Block Paving Cleaning, Re-sanding and Sealing
Block paving cleaning and re-sanding brings an old, weedy driveway back to its best. The service combines cleaning, weed removal and re-sanding, all carried out by our team, restoring the driveway instead of paying thousands to replace it.
A block paved driveway or pathway depends on the sand between the blocks. Once that sand washes out, the blocks can start to shift as the sand that was previously there helps lock them in place, also allowing weeds take root in the gaps and penetrate down.
If the driveway has subsidence or some has already started to shift, we offer a very affordable service for repairing block paved driveways as well.
A full block paving revival can include
- A thorough clean of every block with a rotary cleaner for an even finish
- Removal of weeds, moss and old sand from the joints
- Lifting and re-setting sunken, unstable or loose blocks so they sit level
- Replacement of cracked or stained blocks, matched to your existing drive
- Joints refilled with kiln-dried or polymeric sand, so the blocks lock together again
- A biocide treatment and an optional sealer to protect the finish
Why re-sanding matters
Cleaning alone leaves open joints, and open joints let weeds and moss back in. Fresh sand locks the blocks together, supports the edges and slows regrowth, so the clean lasts longer.
The result is a driveway that looks much better, no movement, without the upheaval of lifting the whole surface.
To improve it even further, we offer a sealing option for clients that want a deeper restoration of colour and protection for their paving.
Sealing is best done after a clean and re-sand, while the surface is in good condition and will soak up the sealer.
When to re-sand
Look for weeds in the joints, blocks that rock underfoot, gaps where sand has washed away, or edges that are starting to spread.
